In May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enters into force. The Volvo Group work actively of keeping ourselves compliant with regulations related to personal data globally.
The maintenance of the GDPR within Volvo Technology AB is requiring a growth in our Data Privacy Management department. We have worked in governance mode for one year and are now looking for one more team member to drive the mindset change and ensure the compliant handling of personal data throughout the organization.
We are a tight global team led by an appointed Data Protection Responsible (DPR) working with data privacy at Volvo Technology AB. We have a strong connection with management boards, legal teams, Volvo Group Truck Divisions and Business Areas, and a wide range of functions in the Volvo Group to assure individual and customer data privacy.

Your role in our team

As a member of the DPR Function, you will work closely with many different initiatives in the organization to guide and help in assessments of gated and non-gated initiatives to ensure that all the steps regarding data privacy in Volvo Group Project Management Tools are incorporated and managed. You will also guide and train projects and teams in the GDPR mindset and Privacy by Design concept in their daily work.
In your role your will support to the DPR to scan all the big and small initiatives in Volvo Technology AB to build our compliance project portfolio. You will closely collaborate with our Legal team and other Volvo organizations concerning the Privacy by Design implementation.

Who are you?

We believe you have senior competence and experience in data privacy, data protection laws, and IT systems in a global, complex organization. You are familiar with the routine of working with, report to Senior Management, and have experience of dealing with risk and risk mitigation. You are proactive and understand the importance of teamwork and network building. You also have a proven ability of driving change and are recognized for your good judgement. A service-focused and structured mindset is your known way of working.
An excellent English skills is required to understand legal text but also to communicate them to your colleagues in an understandable way. Your experience in the automotive industry, vehicle data, and information management is a strong merit. We work in an open multi-cultural organization and expect that you also enjoy it!

Responsibilities
As a Data Protection Specialist, you will both support in daily operations as well as lead and participate in the work how Volvo Group can work even better with Data Privacy in the future; hence you need to have leadership skills.
You will drive and support the document and process updates to ensure the compliance alignment between Volvo Technology AB and the Volvo Group. This may include our Vehicle Data Instruction, standard templates for different project types, data readout request process, etc. You will also represent Volvo Technology AB in securing the quality of the Volvo Data Catalogue.
You will assist the Volvo Group Data Protection Officer (GPO) to manage violations of data security, assess the risk to the rights and freedoms of the data subjects as well as follow the procedures to notify supervisory authorities and the data subjects. Your representation are important when participate in internal data protection-related audits as delegated by the Volvo Group Data Protection Officer and/or Volvo Group Corporate Audit.

Required Skills
University degree in relevant area
Experience in automotive industry and connected vehicles or IoT solutions
Knowledge of data protection laws and practices, especially the GDPR
Strong Communication skills
Strong leading and planning skills
