Background:
Remote monitoring system is bringing new opportunities into the company not only to use the collected data for daily monitoring, early warning and automatic KPI calculation but also to use the sensor data within the mechanical integrity calculations to improve the life time of the components. This means it is possible to have the history of operation, i.e. loading and temperature changes within the life of each individual component from installation until removal data.

Although this seems to be straightforward job, but in facts there are several complexities / challenges that need to be tackled:
• Large volume of data and Continuesly growing
• Noise
• Incompleteness
• Large number of possible variables (that might affect the components' state) and many different possible combinations
• Hidden variables

Due to all the mentioned aspects, and considering the general trend of digitalization and moving toward data-driven future, digital power plant, knowledge-based services, flexible LTPs, etc., it is critical to explore the proper methods and algorithms for high dimensional data analysis, transformation and component state prediction.

Considering the fact that this task needs to deal with the selection of the proper variables and interpretation of the results which requires having the physical knowledge, it is a long journey to build the in-house competence and is not buying out of the shelf.

Suggestion
Due to the importance of the area and in order to keep and improve the position of SIT AB we further need to expand the area within data mining of sensor- and repair data to be able to mature this competence and deploy the knowledge in the tools and processes.

Scope
• Analysis of the SGT-800 combustion chamber history using STA-RMS data and repair data
• Adding metal temperature as a new variable into the analysis
• Analysis of SGT-700 components using their operation history and repair/inspection findings
• Adding sequence mining to the algorithms
• Supporting research collaboration with CT, LiU, and other projects
• Supporting probabilistic design group with the required data and dashboards (such as duty cycle dashboard)
• Documentation of the methods, pros and cons of each one and the boundaries

The person should have the prior and proven experience of:

• Large time series data analysis for complex machineries
• Clustering and generalization of time-series data
• Sequence mining & complex event processing algorithms
• Gas turbine operation analysis to support mechanical integrity calculations

The person should be:

• Independent data analyst
• Works well in the teams
• Follows the disciplines
• Highly motivated and dedicated to work
