The team is a part of the Cloud domain within the Technology organization at Volvo Autonomous Solutions. We design the solutions of the future including site control, traffic planning, connectivity and teleoperation. Our mission is to create safe automation solutions helping our customers reach their sustainability and productivity goals.

Who are you? What will you be working with?
Imagine a future where trucks and machines are driving around without a physical operator in the cab. Normal operation is completely autonomous, and vehicles are stopping automatically for electrical charging. Everything under surveillance from a central control tower, where operators can teleoperate vehicles based on video feedback when needed. This will change people's daily work environment and eliminate dangerous work conditions. Sounds fantastic, doesn't it? You now have the chance to join our team and make this a reality!
We are eager to get to know an engaged HW Electrical & Electronics Engineer to help us navigate in the new universe of connected and autonomous vehicles. You will be a part of our team consisting of system engineers and software developers, you will play an important role as component owner for our hardware portfolio by supporting the organization in making the right decisions and help us to take our concepts into customer implementations. It is important that you have the willingness to break new ground and develop new solutions together with the team, our suppliers, and partners in an international and diverse environment.
You will be responsible for our hardware portfolio for the teleoperation, connectivity and site control solutions which includes components such as cameras, antennas, ECUs and control room equipment. On a day-to-day basis you will manage requirements and documentation, release components, maintain the supplier relationships together with purchasing, plan, and order components and collaborate with the mechanical/electrical integration teams and the geometrical architecture team.
You will be the link between the development teams and the delivery organization, and you will, in collaboration with the team, have an important role in building up our component roadmaps. You will play an important part in the ongoing projects. To succeed with this, we believe you need to be open, flexible, and collaborative.
Since we don't know you yet, we are not exactly sure about who you are or what you know. But if we guess, we believe that you have a background from handling requirements, supplier management and documentation in combination with previous experience from working in the automotive industry. You need to be fluent in English, spoken and written. What's most important of all, is who you are as a person. We believe you have a structured approach and is eager to learn new things and constantly develop your skills, as we are working with new technology and in a field where everything and anything is available for discovery.

Location
At Volvo Autonomous Solutions we have a well-established setup for working remotely. The team is mainly based in Eskilstuna and Gothenburg. Candidates for this position should have possibility to have a weekly face-to-face presence in Gothenburg.
