We are now looking for a Component Engineer to our Building Management System Hardware team, within Digital Buildings in Lund, Sweden. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a dynamic and cross functional role where your skills will be highly valued. As Component Engineer you will be responsible of securing the integrity of critical design related data to ensure products can be maintained, evolved, and produced over the complete life cycle.
Digital Buildings provides Intelligent building management solutions to help customers create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently.
What will you do?
Analyze and propose solutions to resolve issues associate with obsolete components and supplies
Perform component research and evaluate new components for various products
Monitor and identify lifecycle issues related to components and products and assist engineers to identify appropriate resources and changes to design
Secure data exchange between engineering team and various production sites on a global level
Manage and track creation, change and archive of all products related information
Lead change management and release control on all components in a product
Build and manipulate the product structure bill of materials (BOM) for assemblies.
Lead the component risk management process and secure multiple alternatives for critical components
The Building Management Systems Hardware team is part of R&D and develops Automation Servers, Room Controllers, Sensors and other devices, all part of Schneider digital buildings eco system. The hardware team is in Sweden and in the US.
What will make you successful?
Bachelor or higher engineering education possibly within Electrical Engineering
Experience in Product Data Management (PDM) tools and component life cycle management
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication skills in English; both verbally and written
