About the role
The Competence Lead / Software Engineer role has a dual focus - staff responsibility and delivery. As a Competence Lead you will have staff responsibility for employees within the same/adjacent competence as your own, working in different product teams within the same product area. Your staff responsibility goes across different Product Teams and tasks include development conversations, salary review and other staff related activities. You will support, coach and help your team members grow and develop.

You will collaborate with stakeholders in other product teams/areas and enabling functions, as well as with logistics operations. You will be able to try out your creative and innovative ideas - and have a large impact on how we shape the future of fashion retail logistics.
As a Software Engineer you are expected to take part of all phases of the software development lifecycle, from idea and analysis to working solutions deployed in our warehouses. You will work with agile methodologies in quarterly increments, broken down into shorter sprints. The work will be focused on the product backlog, created based on agreed product mission as well as defined objectives and key results.
Furthermore, as a Software Engineer your tasks will include:
Translate product strategy and requirements into suitable, maintainable and scalable solutions
Collaborate closely with product owners and other cross-functional teams, share best practices as well as discuss and motivate design solutions
Work with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle
We are on a journey together which means there is no clear path. You will play an important role in building our product and being part of creating and leading our new organisation. We want to become much more data driven and explorative in new technologies. We want to move into DevOps organisation where our products have a strong focus on operational stability.
