As Commissioner engineer at Valmet you are indeed involved from the very first beginning of the sold project to the final handover to customer. This includes:
Being involved and providing your expertise in the planning phase
Reviewing and giving your input to the engineering work
Visiting customer site before the commissioning begins
Planning the sequence /order of work at site
State you view on HSE and report issues when needed
Performing service tasks and trouble shootings
Finding solutions on site for upcoming problems to
Being part of the functional testing (SAT & FAT) and contributing to the functional description
Writing technical instructions together with process engineers
Holding presentations and trainings for customers at site
In addition, you write daily reports and progressions reports for follow up of the project status.
Valmet is a true global company with customers all over the world, so you will have plenty of opportunities to work in many different countries, sometimes also for longer periods like between three to five months. Most likely you will be working on site around 75% of your time. You will belong to the Gothenburg team, but your location can be flexible within Sweden.
As you see, it's a job full of variety with an exciting mix of operational hands-on task and engineering work. As commissioner engineer you are the in the central of things for all commissioning work at site with several internal and external contacts from different disciplines. Which also enables you to have an impact and influence on the design.
Who are you?
First of all, you have solid experience and knowledge from process industry. If you have experience from evaporation plants and or pulp and paper industry, it's of course ideal. but experience from process- or oil & gas industry is also of interest. In all cases, it's important that you are curios, have a strong drive to develop yourself and learn new technologies and methods.
At work you enjoy when you enjoy the mix of using your analytical skills as well as your ability to work practical and hands-on.
With your good communication and interpersonal skills, you build and keep up good relationships both external and internal contacts. You also have the will and skill to work effectively with our customers also in demanding and stressful situations.
Health and safety is essential for us and a critical HSE mindset is a natural part of your way of working.
We think you have a technical degree within chemical processing or mechanical engineering from college or similar. English and Swedish skills are necessary to work with our customers, if you speak any further language such as Russian or Spanish it's highly valued.
