The section Thermodynamics has a long tradition of using CFD as a tool for engineering and design processes. We are currently 14 persons working within the section. The CFD related part of the section is responsible for planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs, both individually and in teams. We work together with system/attribute leaders, analysis engineers, stylists and designers to develop and verify our systems and components in our future vehicles. An important part of our work is to continuously improve our working processes and methods. Furthermore, close cooperation with universities and participation in global research programs are an essential part of our long term development.
As CFD Engineer Team Leader, Thermo Analysis within the CFD Thermo team you will be involved in planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs as well as support and involvement in our physical testing. You will also support the department's method development projects to meet our future challenges. You establish and develop relationships with representatives from many areas of the vehicle meaning you will therefore build and maintain a wide personal network within Volvo Cars. Main responsibilities
• Act as Team Leader for the Thermo CAE analysis team
• Plan project deliveries for the Thermo CAE team
• Represent Thermo in the department's CAE team
• Be the contact person for CFD tools
• Plan, perform and report CAE analysis
• Support and participate in physical testing
• Mentoring Thesis work students
Required qualifications
• MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years of industrial and/or academic experience in CFD
• Experience from automotive CFD within the attribute thermodynamics
• Skills in the tools we use: ANSA, Ansys/Fluent, Radtherm, Harpoon and EnSight. Skills in all of them will be highly valued
• Meritorious is experience in programming/scripting
• Fluent in speaking and writing Swedish and English
• Drivers license B (car)
