WHO ARE YOU?You bring a blend of commercial instinct, analytical depth, and marketplace understanding. You're equally comfortable crafting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to diagnose a trend or steer a weekly performance review.You are someone with:
- 5-7+ years of experience in ecommerce category management, product management, marketplace operations, or similar roles where commercial performance is core.
- Strong commercial thinking - able to balance supply, demand, pricing, liquidity and monetisation in a dynamic, transactional environment.
- Excellent analytical skills, using marketplace signals and behavioural insights to drive prioritisation and decision-making.
- Proven experience working cross-functionally with product managers, analysts, marketers, and commercial teams.
- A structured, hands-on execution mindset - comfortable with ambiguity, adept at building foundations, and motivated by solving complex marketplace challenges.
- Strong communication skills, influencing without authority and bringing clarity to multi-stakeholder environments.
- Familiarity with marketplace liquidity dynamics, pricing models, funnels, or BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI) is a plus - curiosity and domain ownership matter just as much.
WHAT'S THE JOB LIKE?Your missionAs Category Manager for Recommerce, you are the owner of your category's commercial performance. You'll set the vision, define the playbook, steer the metrics, and work across teams to strengthen supply, demand, pricing, liquidity, and overall marketplace health.
What your days might look like
- Developing and refining your category strategy - including the vision, roadmap, pricing approach, supply levers, and promotional mechanics.
- Analysing behavioural signals, pricing patterns, and performance KPIs to uncover risks, opportunities, and growth levers.
- Leading weekly performance deep-dives: translating signals into actions, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring follow-through.
- Launching targeted initiatives across marketing, pricing, product, and operations to improve liquidity, supply balance, conversion, and GMV.
- Building scalable operating models - including routines, processes, dashboards and playbooks - that strengthen category management at Vend.
- Collaborating closely with cross-market peers, product teams, analysts, and commercial leads to ensure alignment and drive measurable outcomes.
Key projects you'll help shape
- Building Vend's first category playbooks for Recommerce - defining how categories are steered, measured, and operated.
- Designing smart pricing and liquidity mechanics in partnership with analytics and product.
- Identifying inventory gaps and shaping supply stimulation initiatives across markets.
- Influencing product development for automated pricing, marketplace signals, and category-level tooling.
- Running category-wide growth experiments and translating learnings into scaled improvements.
