The opportunity
Business Manager - European Operations
You will:
Reporting monthly project/operational activities and forecasts
Analysing Operational (Project) performance against budget
Development of the operational resource plans, budgets and schedules on behalf of the Operations (Project) Manager
Assisting the Operations (Project) Manager with the contracting and supply agreement process
Support the Group Commercial (Project) Manager in the preparation of key contracts
Investigating, auditing and qualifying key suppliers in accordance with company policies and procedures
Identifying, assessing and recording key operational / project risks and the overall risk profile
Support the operations (project) manager in contractor management
Building relations with our key suppliers, visiting their facilities
Drive Project/Operational KPIs, outcomes and performance (cost tree management)
Market and industry pricing analysis
Driving efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget, on schedule
Prepare applications, provide forecasts and analyse projects for R&D and other incentive claims
Support the project to deliver the enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Liaise with and support EU Financial Controller in the preparation of operating/project reports and forecasts
To be successful in the role you must have:
Degree qualification in a relevant discipline in finance, economics or commerce
Additional post-graduate qualifications in law or business administration required
Minimum 3 years experience in corporate finance or as a financial research analyst
Proven experience in Mergers and Acquisitions transactional experience in support of a Project Lead
Ability to support the CEO and board with its advisors in future equity raising and project finance dealings to deliver the Company's growth strategy
Proven commercial leadership for development of supplier and customer off take agreements in association with operations team and sales and marketing team
Demonstrated financial modelling skills and use of financial modelling in scenario forecasting for development of corporate strategy and planning
Analytical experience in mining or chemical sectors
Culturally sensitive and aware with respect to our global customer network and a mixed citizen & expatriate workforce
Highly desirable second language, preferably Japanese
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with effective engagement, networking, negotiation, and influencing skills in complex environments

Have willingness to work on a range of projects as workload dictates
