The function of Global Operations & Quality (GOQ) is proud to be producing and distributing top quality engines to most corners of the world, upholding the Volvo Penta brand and reputation. GOQ is the organization within Penta with the total responsibility for manufacturing, logistics and quality. Two major KPI 's within GOQ are delivery precision and inventory levels. Quality, Environment & Product Compliance (QEP) is another vital part of our organization. Our quest is to build a world class supply chain and become number 1 in customer satisfaction.
GOQ is now searching for a Business Controller to work with key business controlling activities initially mainly related to the QEP area, but who will gradually also be involved in other GOQ controlling activities to support the GOQ and Volvo Penta organization within the financial area.
Main tasks and responsibilities
The major part of the work tasks are initially related to Quality, Environment & Product Compliance operations, but tasks will also gradually involve other GOQ controlling activities. The business controller will work closely with the GOQ Business Control Team to support the GOQ management and organization within the financial area.
The position holder will report to the Vice President GOQ Business Control, but will also support the Vice President Quality, Environment & Product Compliance. The position is placed in Gothenburg.
Core Responsibilities
• Develop and drive improvements of the business control process (mainly related to QEP)
• Develop and produce management reports and other communication material
• Consolidate financial plans and estimates
• Analyze and follow up of monthly actuals vs. estimates and plan
• Investigate, explain and resolve deviations in costs
• Global responsibility for analyzing and controlling of warranty costs and calculation of warranty provisions
• Global business control key user for the financial set-ups in the warranty system, UCHP
• Participation in different initiatives and projects

Critical competencies for the position
• 3-5 years minimum work experience from a similar business control position in an international environment
• Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• Good Excel skills
• Preferably good knowledge of the Volvo accounting principles and controlling framework
• Preferably good knowledge of Volvo financial systems such as SAP R3 and Essbase
• Knowledge of the ERP system JDE E1 is an advantage
• Knowledge of the warranty system UCHP is an advantage
• Full proficiency in English
