Our 1-9 school has 825 students. We have divided it into smaller school-units to keep the important family feeling. Our Assistant Principals lead their unit with the direction and support provided by the overall Principal. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a group of dedicated staff and students.

• Continuing to develop the school?s positive culture
• Ensuring the school is a calm and safe learning environment of high academic standards
• Coordinating the work of the school?s student care team, including contact with external authorities
• Ensuring student motivation, security, satisfaction and learning
• Lead and coordinate the school team ? for example lead weekly meetings, training sessions, visit lessons, give clear and meaningful feedback, conduct constructive and focused development and salary talks
• Help drive the school?s systematic quality work
• Developing and improving school routines and policies
• Help recruit, develop and retain quality staff

REQUIREMENTS
Language: the school is bilingual and candidates need to be able to work in both languages on a daily basis. We do not expect native Swedish speakers to be perfect at English nor vice versa.The school's official working language is English but a great deal of contact with parents, social authorities and the student care team is done entirely in Swedish.
Experience: experience of leadership is a clear merit although character and motivation play an equally important role. You will receive training and mentorship to help support and develop your leadership.
Qualifications: candidates do not need to be qualified teachers but experience of working in schools is a clear merit. A good knowledge of Swedish school law is a merit but training can be provided otherwise.
Character: there is no exact model of the ?right? Assistant Principal but candidates need to have good communication & IT-skills, have good people skills. Candidates need to be good at both long term planning and being able to react and make good decisions in difficult situations. Flexibility and a positive, professional attitude is also highly desirable.
