YOUR WORKDAY
As BI Developer at SSAB you will be building new dimension models and integrate new data!
The steelplant can be described as a giant machine running 24-7, 365 days a year. SSAB is world leading when it comes to high strength steels and the largest steel producer in the Nordics. So, to start with, the stats are impressive, but this is only the beginning. SSAB is right now launching one of its largest investments ever, to start produce fossil free steel by 2026, through a technology called HYBRIT. For Oxelösund this means rebuilding the factory, and a total overhaul of all IT-systems. Over the coming years systems will be exchanged for a state of the art IT environment. In other words, you as a BI Developer will have an opportunity of a lifetime, to help create the smartest, most digitized fossil free steel factory in the world!
Your responsibilities as a BI Developer will for starters be to learn existing data structure. You will be working closely together with our Data Engineer, Data Manager and Service Manager as well as several system owners. You will be responsible for analyzing and visualizing data both from already existing sources as well as new sources.
With the coming digitization projects we will store significantly larger amounts of data than we do today, as well as new types of data that we do not handle today. Today's data storage solutions will be expanded with infrastructure and new analysis capabilities to retrieve and store all types of data, both structured and unstructured data (sensor data, alarms, logs, images, videos).
Considering the location, Oxelösund, you can work from a distance, but you have to be at the office at least once or twice a week. Perks in this BI Developer role are strong benefits (vacation, pension, insurance package, etc) and senior and motivated colleagues.
WHO ARE YOU?
As BI Developer you like to see results and you are used to take responsibility within your own projects, using a solution oriented focus. To feel comfortable in the role you also like to use your analytical side mixed with curiosity as well as a good ability to collaborate. You also need to speak professional Swedish and English.
You have probably worked a couple of years, or more, as a BI Developer role or a similar role. We believe you need to have experience of SQL from an analysis perspective and been working with Dimension models and Tabular models such as SSAS or similar.
Meritorious competences are Power BI or similar visualization-tool as well as ETL tools such as SSIS and issue tracking systems such as Jira or Service Now.
