The section Electrical Performance is organised under the department Electrical System Design in unit Electrics/Electronics & Chassis. The attribute area Electrical Performance is responsible for establishing requirements and verification methods, to ensure that Volvo Car Group products meet customer requirements in terms of electrical reliability, electrical safety and balanced electrical energy for the complete electrical system in the car. The scope for Electrical Performance covers requirements on complete vehicle level, through function and system level to component level. We are 18 employees within the group, including experienced attribute leaders as well as experts within electronics hardware.
As an Attribute Leader - Electrical Performance you will develop and secure electrical performance requirements, with focus on electrical hardware design, throughout the projects. The Electrical Performance group are the electrical hardware design competence centre team, considered as the automotive electrical hardware expert team at Volvo Car Group. Main responsibilities
* Develop requirements based on annual activities such as? lessons learned, technology intelligence, field data analysis, competitor car benchmarking and participation in standardisation activities in early phases
* Secure requirement fulfilment by cascading requirements, following requirement fulfilment from design areas, their documentation, FMEA, hardware joint review and verification result to our own complete vehicle verification
* Be involved in project to balance requirements and evaluate conflict of interests with other attribute areas to find the best solution for Volvo Car Group
* Have continuous contact with the project to report the status
* Support the organisation in electrical HW design, electrical assembly, HW verification, materials and failure modes to evaluate electrical designs and validation of supplier capabilities
Required qualifications
* BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* At least five years experience from hardware development of electronics or electrical distribution system for automotive
* Experience from requirements development and leading design tasks
* Solid knowledge of car technologies in general
* Skills in analytical tools (e.g. FMEA, Six Sigma)
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driving license B
* Knowledge in applicable automotive standards and legal demands regarding electrical safety is meritorious

* Ability to take initiatives
* Capacity to drive several issues simultaneously
