Do you have a passion for data management and a strong background in the pharma and life sciences industry? Are you experienced in clinical data management, business process mapping, and Agile development? Do you possess excellent communication skills and a knack for problem-solving in complex analytical and technical challenges? If so, this role might be the perfect opportunity for you!

AstraZeneca's R&D Data Office is an industry-leading enabler of data and AI strategy. The Data Office provides data services, technology, and data products, supported by data and AI policy and governance, to unlock the value of data that drives innovative science. The Data Office's Data Products and Platforms Team is responsible for the end-to-end hosting, processing, and management of study and patient data, including clinical, imaging, and omics data and associated study information, to enable cross R&D use. They ensure data is "FAIR" (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and managed appropriately.

Accountabilities

You will manage sharing constraints of the data, focusing on both completed studies and proactively preparing studies that have readout. This involves handling the sharing constraint on a study and product level. Within the team, you will work autonomously, supervising others as needed, to ensure that the right study patient content is available to downstream users and is appropriately managed. Your responsibilities include responding to and performing requests for study patient data services, leading a team reviewing study information, protocols, informed consent forms, and product legal aspects to understand how data can be used from an ownership perspective. You will oversee automated flows into systems and catalogues, plus manual data stewardship and management tasks. Introducing processes, ways of working, and implementing best practices while supporting tool development to automate work will be core parts of your role.

You will take a strong customer focused approach and achieve outcomes for requesters by contributing to the development of structured measures of operational activity (e.g., operational metrics on data utilization) and using this information to improve study patient data services continuously. When changes to processes are commissioned, you will ensure they are appropriately documented, versioned, and applied. Throughout these processes, you will align ways of working with associated data policies and standards to help manage data risks, such as data privacy risk. A background in pharma and familiarity with the setup, conduct, and data management of a clinical study will be beneficial. A core capability will be switching from reactive work to proactive planning to ensure work is done upfront and reduces lead times.
