Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars suppliersand has the responsibility for the procurement of all production material and services to Volvo Cars.
The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
Job Description:
Establish and maintain a competitive supplier base in a long-term
perspective and deliver products (value chains) to the After Market in time and according to commercial targets.
Main commodities:
Electrical parts
Remanufacturing electrical parts
Main tasks:
For all commodities:
Maintain and develop the supplier base
Build, develop and maintain competitive supplier strategies
(commodity strategies)
Lead the supplier selection activities
Carry out market analysis and benchmarking studies
Perform year to year commercial negotiations
Establish action plans for systematic supplier issues
Represent Purchasing in cross functional team work within VCC and with other Ford brands when applicable
Develop and establish agreements and issue all purchase orders
Establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
Assure availability of non-current parts for VCC
Tooling management after run out of serial production
Establish prerequisites for rationalization and productivity
increase
Responsible for the commodity and to develop strategies, within the scope of the business area.
Responsible to ensure that suppliers are selected, agreements are established and orders etc. are issued within the commodity
Responsible to work toward individual targets
Actively participate in activities that focus on continuous
improvements, both within Purchasing and at the supplier
Actively participate in team development and teamwork
Profile Qualifications Requirements:
Technical and/or Commercial education from university or similar.
Purchasing /Sales or Engineering experience
High interest in making business
Good English, written and spoken
Personal Qualities Requirements:
Target oriented
High driving spirit and ambitious
Flexible
Communicative
Good sense of humor
Lots of common sense
