The section Low Speed Manoeuvring and SRS, Analyse and Verification is a part of Volvo Car Groups Active Safety department, which drives the development of the Volvo core value - Safety. We are responsible for analyse and verification of several different areas such as parking manoeuvring, parking cameras, automatic parking and BLIS (blind spot information system) plus SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). All these involved sensors/systems will be part of the future self-driving cars together with many new sensors. This will surely be a challenge to verify and quality assure. Our test methods today are both on bench, rigs, cars and CAE. Our daily work is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments such as the Active Safety CAE group, electrical, interior/exterior, ergonomics as well as external suppliers.
We are now looking for you who wants to be our new Test Engineer SRS system. Your responsibilities will be to verify our crash system for all our cars in bench mostly but also in the vehicles. The work requires a close, analytical and cross functional cooperation in the development teams. You will have daily contact with other technical areas such as our design dept for the SRS system, complete car crash dept, electrical, interior/exterior, suppliers etc. You should of course have a passion for technique, analysis, our products and customers.
Main responsibilities
• Lead and plan the system verification in bench and in vehicles
• Develop new test methods
• Prepare and perform the testing
• Analyse test results
• Communicate test results to involved parties
• Work together with the design group
• Make understanding for what is needed in the daily verification
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. or similar in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics
• Experience from working with Matlab and Simulink
• Knowledge within programming languages such as: C++, .Net, Java is meritorious
• Former experience from working with one or more of these areas: sensor development, SW design or SW verification is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Ability to independently develop, plan, conduct and follow up work towards objectives
• Good analytical skills with a mathematic approach
• Structured and focused on methodologies
• Good communication skills and a networking personality
