A 4-month part-time program by Orten.io and Changers Hub between Aug-Dec 2019 that accepts 20 young individuals in areas that are underrepresented in the technology & startup industry and aims to:

• Inspire them to pursue a career in the technology & startup industry
• Give them an introduction to and basic knowledge within relevant subjects
• Help them to build relevant and meaningful relationships that will increase the possibilities that they reach their short- and long-term goals.
• Launching is learning

This position requires a flexible, student-centered candidate who is eager to fill in where needed and proactive in identifying and addressing potential improvements.

The successful candidate will have industry experience working in a position of responsibility on web-based projects. Candidates should have expert knowledge in, and a passion for, teaching and building websites, and should be able to move between both UI design and Frontend technologies (Javascript ES6 is preferred).

Skills and Qualifications

• You are eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of eager Orten.io Academy Students.
• You are the person that your colleagues naturally gravitate to when they are trying to figure something out.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in Front-end Web Development.
• Experience working in the field of web development and/or website production
• A portfolio of work highlighting past accomplishments
• Experience teaching technology
• Experience writing courses, tutorials, or creating other training materials
• Ability to teach the following topics:
-HTML/CSS3
-JavaScript(ES6) and jQuery
-GIT/GitHub
• Nice to have: ReactJS/Redux, CSS Preprocessors like SASS/SCSS

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• ------------------------------------

Teach 9-hour (3hrs ,3 times a week) workshop per week, typically after-work hours.
Mon, Tues, Thursday 18-21

Instructors will need to commit a few hours per week preparing lessons and materials, leveraging the syllabus content.

Work alongside Orten Academy staff and teaching team to best meet the needs and learning styles of your students.

Guide students through development of a stellar final project that will showcase their abilities to hiring managers.

Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community.
Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of learning a new suite of skills
