Description
The EE HW Engineering Chapter is one of five competence teams inside the Hardware Engineering Tribe. The overall responsibilities of the Tribe is to secure NEVS present and future need for Hardware, Competence & Technology, while building a great place to work. The responsibilities of the EE HW Engineering Chapter lies within the areas of Physical Electrical Architecture, Electromechanics & PASD, Electronics & Electrical Energy Storage.
We work in a lean, agile organization where people with certain competences are either members of squads (smaller teams), and/or act in a supporting role to these squads. To be successful you need to have an open mind, be solution oriented, a team player and able to adapt to change.
As a Senior System Engineer in the Power Electronics field, you will be supporting the propulsion & Power conversion area in every phase of the project, from concept selection to industrialization and lifetime quality. You will be working closely together with Software Engineering, Electrical architecture/integration & Mechanical architecture/integration. You will be a key player in creating, defining and developing system and component requirements as well as plans for validation and verification. You are also expected to contribute to a better way of working.
This role also involves:
- Support concept selection at vehicle architecture, system and component level.
- Be a part of the creation and development of functions and requirements for future products within your field.
- Responsibility within assigned squads at any stage of the product lifecycle, including advanced development, industrialization development, production, and implementation/service stages.
- Lead or support technical communication, internal and external.
- Identify opportunities and help implement changes to optimize functions, products or processes at any stage of the product lifecycle.
- Evaluate the feasibility of development plans, technical proposals and product offerings.
- Support future product planning activities.
- Evaluate and optimize power electronics systems in current products.
- Support the development and maintenance of validation and verification methodologies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain internal and external networks.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Capable of working with both HW and SW development in relation to defining, executing, optimizing, and problem solving power electronics systems.
- Application knowledge of electronic design considerations, both controllers and power electronics.
- Application knowledge of mechanical kinematic system design considerations.
- Have a working knowledge of system design and system analyzing.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards like ISO 26262, or similar.
- Industrial experience working with automation, with a desired focus on motion control.
- Experience in Environmental & Durability Requirements/testing, incl. EMC
- Engineering experience from development of systems, minimum 5 years.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Swedish and/or Mandarin Chinese desirable.
