GVA is growing rapidly and as a result we are now seeking a technically savvy, dedicated and team oriented Structural Analysis Engineer.
The Ideal Candidate should not only have a strong desire to work for GVA and within the offshore industry but also possess the following skills and competencies:
M.Sc. degree in Naval Architecture (preferable), Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
3 + years experience of structural analysis of ships and floating offshore structures.
Knowledge in the area of fatigue analysis and buckling analysis, practical experience is highly regarded.
Knowledge about ship and offshore rules concerning the DNV and ABS classification societies, practical experience is considered an advantage.
Knowledge of the DNV software suite SESAM and Femap/Nastran software is an advantage.
Understanding of the principles of approval by Classification Societies.
Fluent and effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
Communicate effectively with all levels and disciplines and build and maintain effective relationships.
Demonstrate the ability to analyze basic engineering issues and effectively solve problems.
