Last couple of years we have Axell Wireless has delivered coverage solutions to some of the most prestigious buildings and venues around the world, such as the stadiums and Olympic Village for London Olympics 2012, tunnel between France and UK, Burj Khalifa and Pentagon to name but a few.
Axell Wireless has R&D and sales offices all over the world, so we are working in a truly international environment.
User Interface Designer / Front end developer / Software Engineer
Overall objective of the role
We need to fill in a position within our Swedish software team based in our modern office in the center of Sundbyberg.
Our state of the art repeaters have an advanced web application as their control interface. We are looking for a smart developer with a taste for usability and graphic design to push it to the limits. The app uses the latest technologies and you will be responsible to hack into the web interface, add new features and improve usability.
We strive for the best user experience and work with the latest web technologies including a modern REST level 1 API for back end communication together with JSON / Ajax.
Development environment is mixed where most front end is developed on Apple/Mac while backend is done in Linux / Ubuntu. Projects are ran in an agile Scrum manner.
You will be directly reporting to the Software R&D manager.
Our aim is that the user interface should be market leading, giving users the "Wow"-feeling, and that is where we need your skills!
Did we mention that we don't support IE < 9?
Areas of Responsibilities
• Develop and improve web based user interfaces for all web products
• Design and improve layout, graphics and CSS.
• Improve the existing functionality to simplify installation and commissioning of the existing products
• Suggest improvements to existing products/architectures/build methologies and build environments
• Develop client side of the web framework
• Participate in architectural design on server side
• Optionally assist in various coding on other parts of our platforms when required
• Support of released products
Job Requirements
• JavaScript Ninja: You are fluent in JavaScript language patterns and know how to use prototypes, AMD modules, and make Single Page Apps. You don't mimic other languages in Javascript.
• Hands on experience with modern JavaScript libraries such as RequireJS, JQuery, JQuery UI, Handlebars, Underscore as well as with Ajax and JSON
• Good knowledge of CSS3, Animations, Transitions
• Talented in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
• Experience with Canvas and real time data visualisation systems
• Comfortable working in a Unix based environment (Mac OS & Linux)
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Swedish knowledge is a plus but is not required.
• We have a team of nice developers and the most important thing is that you fit in with the team.
Beneficial (Not required)
• Scrum/Agile methodologies
• Experience with RESTful APIs, C / shell, CMake, SQL, Embedded Linux and Lua
• Backend development, Usability evaluation and Test Driven Development
