TAT, The Astonishing Tribe, was acquired by BlackBerry in December 2010 and ever since then we have been focusing on creating the next generation user experience for BlackBerry devices. With the new BB10 platform soon to be shipping we have an adventure in front of us with several new products and opportunities.

We are looking for a User Experience Analyst to lead and support research initiatives in the areas of product design, user experience and human factors.

Responsibilities
• Collect research through various methods using the existing insights tool kit
• Conduct user testing and translate findings into actionable design recommendations and initiatives.
• Presentation and sharing of insights to various internal stakeholders.
• Participate in external vendor relationships
• Work with the designers to prepare prototypes and design concepts
• Contribute to regular Insights communications and sharing forums.
• Working closely with other cross-functional teams as well as customers and partners
• Focus is on managing, collaborating and maintaining relationships with appropriate contacts to interpret or define research/procedures
• Interaction with other functional teams within BlackBerry

Contribution
• Work assigned in form of projects, objectives and timelines
• Focus on evaluation, analysis, and measurement, expanding expertise in research and design (with direction as required)
• Contribute to understanding of insights practice across project teams in alignment with management and team practice
• Analysis of results, interpret findings, patterns and trends and apply to BlackBerry's design work
• Work with design team to ensure Insights are reflected in design work

Skills & Qualifications
• Post secondary education in HCI, design or research related field preferred
• 5+ years academic or work related design experience preferred
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
• Strong research skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills to translate research into practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present ideas effectively to both technical and business audiences.
• Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility and professionalism
• Able to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Experience with various design research methodologies and approaches
• Ability to proactively look at opportunities and provide creative research solutions
• A keen sense of discovery and can take a creative approach to problem solving
