Technical Support - Mining and Construction Crushers
Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is a world-leading supplier of equipment and complete solutions for the mining and construction industries. SMC's production unit in Svedala is a global development centre for crushers, which are used within mining, quarries and the construction industry. The site is divided into three main areas of operation: foundry (Wear Parts), mechanical workshop (Parts) and assembling (Assembly). We are now looking for Technical Support for our crusher Technical Support desk located in Svedala.
Key performance areas
As Technical Support your main responsibilities will be to develop product specific technical support for the sales organizations and assist with technical related enquires and issues. Additional responsibilities include to:
• Provide technical support regarding spare parts and components with the help of Product Line Managers, Engineering, and Product Support, for service and sales organizations in the Regions
• Interface with Engineering, R&D and Product Line Management to ensure that Parts documentation (Parts Manuals) is in accordance with SMC documentation policy, including the issue of service bulletins relating to specific spare parts
• Ensure parts set-up in SMC Logistics Item Master with relevant information including Price rule and commodities for the GLP model (and participate in project team for product integrations)
• Manage the spare parts process in product development projects, including identification of new spare parts, set-up of item codes and requisitions, and preparing stocking recommendations
• Provide pricing, specification and documentation for components and retrofit kits in cooperation with current product engineering and product line management
• Assist in administration and review of Product returns where required
You will also function as Help Desk for spare parts and components, acting as the primary contact for SMC Logistics' Inbound Planners and regional Customer Service Representatives in all matters relating to the assigned product line. Among others, your responsibilities include:
• Assisting in expediting delivery of critical parts in machine down situations
• Providing spare part recommendations for various requests as required
• Dealing with spare part numbering questions and setting up item codes as requested by Regions or SMC Logistics
Your profile
The ideal candidate has a technical degree from a university and/or has gathered corresponding knowledge in another way. Experience from working with crushing and screening is valuable as well as experience from similar tasks.
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with administrative experience and capacity to work in a structured way. Fluency in oral and written English is required. Other language skills are an advantage.
