As Technical Expert within Antenna and reception performance you will be responsible for the Antenna development. You will be part of the complete development chain from early strategy work and design development to final verification and field reports. If you are very well experienced in Antenna development and reception performance and if you are looking for a position where you can develop your leadership competencies, continue to build on your technical skills, as well as building and maintaining a network that includes people from all areas in the company, this is the time for you to take the step into Technical Expert position. As Technical Expert - Antenna and reception performance you will be a part of the Infotainment & Driver Interaction department and the Tuners & Antenna group. The Tuners & Antennas group is responsible for the development of different antennas and functions (AM, FM, TMC, GPS, GSM, WLAN, LTE, Sirius/XM, DAB, TV etc.)
Main responsibilities
• Deliver on annual basis a documented Vision, Mission & Strategy within the Antenna and reception performance area
• Deliver on annual basis a Benchmark report covering competitors, suppliers, authorities, etc
• Deliver Research work to define New Requirement Specifications and Corresponding Verification/Validation Method
• Secure Technology Readiness by Initiating and supervise Advanced Engineering and EU projects
• Secure Process, Methods & Tools Readiness by initiating and supervise Operational Development projects
• Initiate annual studies and actively support concept studies
• Support engineering
• On request advice line and project management in technical matters from the point of view "What is best for Volvo Cars in a competitive environment"
• Support in contacts with suppliers, quality assurance, authorities and organisations
• Issue and/or review requirement specifications for System requirement specifications
• Deliver education material and carry through education within Technical Expert area
• Deliver applications for research and innovation projects which are co-financed by the authorities
• Develop and maintain relations with universities through supervision of doctorate programs, thesis works etc.
• Proactively participate in seminars, conferences and conventions
• You are the expert and recognised as the go-to person
Required qualifications
• You have minimum a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
• You have extensive experience, a minimum of 10 years from Electrical Engineering and Antenna Technology
• You have extensive experience from Technology Innovation
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
• You have a valid driver's license
