The Science Services Division develops, operates and maintains systems to facilitate rocket and balloon launch capabilities. We are an industry leader with a long history of successfully launching rockets and balloons from our facility at Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden. In addition, we provide support for long term ground to space observation systems and now begin to expand into experimental rocket and balloon projects.

REQUIREMENTS
We offer within the Science Services Rocket and Balloon Instrumentation department a chance for you to make direct contributions that actively support launch operations with some of the leading space organizations throughout the world. As a Systems Engineer your role will be to oversee the development and sustainability of critical systems required to support our customers' launch requirements. You will have the opportunity to participate in project development, support customer campaigns, conduct technical investigations, coordinate system requirements with customers and partners while promoting long term operational sustainability.
Examples of work tasks:
Analyzing requirements for internal and external development projects while encompassing those needs into a sustainable service that fits into the overall SSC Space's business approach.
Proving system readiness for launches. Support procedures to demonstrate flight readiness reviews and support technical investigations and their conclusions.
Drive technical analyses on deliverables for internal and external projects.
Support the maintenance, development, and change management for responsible systems within the department.
Provide systems support per customer requirements to enable technical implementations and reviews.
Participate in telemetry and instrumentation operational teams which execute rocket and balloon launches for customer campaigns; from pre-campaign setup to post flight operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We look for ambitious, flexible and passionate personnel who can thrive in a team environment to support the operational sustainability of multi-facility space port. As we address basic and complex technical challenges and collaborate in an international environment across different company divisions, we expect you to be forward thinking and work with ease in a team environment. Previous experience with RF Systems, electronics, network hardware integration and software design is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field or have corresponding system management, operational technologies or system maintenance management experience.
Background in Electronic, Mechanical, Maintenance or RF engineering and a sincere interest in Science and Space Technologies.
Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Swedish language skills are a plus.
This role requires a valid B driver's license and access to a car.

LOCATION
This is a permanent full-time position located at Esrange Space Center, Sweden. As part of our team, you will participate in rocket and balloon campaigns that can be scheduled outside of regular business hours. Occasional requirements to work with our international partners outside of Sweden may be required.
