The section Engine Controls & Calibration are responsible for function development, calibration and validation of engine control in Volvo Car Groups petrol and diesel engines. The group Aftertreatment Control Diesel within the section, is responsible for application of exhaust aftertreatment control on Diesel engines. We develop and calibrate related software. The group's impact on legislated emissions is big and we take large responsibility for making our Diesel engines aligned with emission legislations. We work with a number of different aftertreatment technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Lean NOx Traps (LNT) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). We do a large amount of our work in different engine test cells located in our laboratory but also in vehicles on site and during expeditions to find extreme climates and altitudes. We use advanced programs for modelling and data processing for best end results.
We are now looking for a System Team Leader who want to contribute to improving our cars' environmental impact and driving experience. With us, you will have great opportunities in specialization and personal development. As a System Team Leader your main focus will be the development of the software functions. Right now, we are in an exciting phase of development, facing the challenge to, in addition to diesel and gasoline engines, also develop electric motors, hybrids and engines that run on more environmentally friendly fuels. If we manage that, we will be a part of creating opportunities for our children to grow up in a better environment.
Main responsibilities
* Lead and co-ordinate the control system design work within Diesel Aftertreament
* Analyse system robustness and failure mode effects (FMEA)
* Define and handle requirements within system and from other areas
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. or B.Sc. in engineering
* At least 5 years' experience in engine control development
* Experience in Diesel Aftertreatment systems
* MATLAB/SIMULINK and INCA experience is meritorious
* Experience of modelling is meritorious
* Driver License B
