System Diagnostics and Vehicle Interface is looking for a new System Architect Engineer. We are part of the System Engineering section within Vehicle Engineering at Volvo Group Trucks Technology.
Your role in our team
As System Architect Engineer within the electrical area, you will work closely together with your colleagues in an open-minded and creative environment. You will taking active role in developing architectural changes in our EE system. You will develop technical system solutions, targeting customer gains, which will be implemented in HW and SW. Your work will include analysis, specification on system level design as well as proposing enablers for new functionality and defining technical solutions in general. You will learn how the Electrical & Electronic system is used in products and how it enables the functionality in the vehicles, to contribute in development of even better products.
You will work in an agile environment with many contact points and colleagues interested in improving our products. You will learn a lot and you will become involved in a growing area within vehicle development.
Who are you?
You have a good general understanding of distributed embedded systems over CAN and Ethernet. Good knowledge about both HW and SW and Ability to apply a system thinking for implementation of a functionality. You have also good understanding of what a concept for functionality for implementation in an electrical system is.
You also have an MSc in Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent education/experience and you have good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
We also see experience of diagnostic and understanding of requirements and allocation of functionality to be beneficial. You have a general understanding of the difference between functional implementation and when diagnostics or functionality must be applied, and also read, understand and apply ISO-specifications.
Responsibilities
As System Architect Engineer you must be able to take requirements from a solution level, product planning and other stakeholders and create a concept for the desired functionality in the TEA2+ electrical system. You need to lead the concept development in the projects for the above mentioned functionality, and also improve and support the product development in connection with the concepts. Ensuring that the system development is performed according to defined system development processes and methods. Secure that pre-study/concept reports and project technical reports are written, reviewed and released. When needed escalate activities that are not being developed according to approved methods or is too risky and will jeopardize the QDCF of the assignment.
