System Design Engineer
At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER within the group Electrical Accessories you will be involved in our future accessories offers. We are seeking an experienced system designer that will be part of maintaining and developing our system solutions which spread over various areas such as, towing electronics, alco guard or interior and exterior accessory lightning systems. You will also be involved in the sections work with functional and systems safety (ISO 26262). The work involves frequent contacts with many development roles, like functional, system and component design engineers as well as with our suppliers.
Accessories Department in the unit Electrical and Electronics System Engineering is responsible for development of Volvo Cars' total Accessory Range. We are more than 70 qualified and dedicated employees who represent electrical, interior and exterior development within R&D. Together with our product planners in the Accessory Business Unit at Volvo Cars Customer Service, we deliver a significant contribution to Volvo Cars' business.

Job profile:
• Describe how functional area requirements shall be realised in a system solution
• Ensure system solution verification through review of Design verification Methods
• Requirement development/management
• Monitor the development work of the suppliers with regards to requirement specifications
• Act as the departments ISO 26262 expert, e.g. System safety engineer
Your profile:
• University degree within electrical/electronics system design area
• Experience from development of electronics (preferably from automotive industry)
• Experience from requirement development
• Skills within other electrical base technologies e.g. network design, communication
• Good English skills spoken and written
• Knowledge within AUTOSAR, MATLAB/Simulink is meritorious as well as knowledge of ISO 26262 standard
• Analytical and problem solving mindset
• Holistic view with well developed organizational skills
