The Global Operations & Quality organization consists of plants in Sweden, China and the US with global functions supporting such as Supply Chain, Quality & Core Values, HR and Business control.

We are now looking for a Supply Chain Planning Manager to join our team.

You will work with a high performing team aiming at world class Sales & Operations Planning - do you have what it takes?
Within Sales & Operations Planning team, we are now looking for a Supply Chain Planning Manager to complete our passionate and dedicated S&OP team. The position will be thus located at our Volvo Penta head quarter in Gothenburg, Sweden.

To be successful in this position you need to have solid supply chain management experience from the automotive powertrain industry. You have excellent communication skills together with cross-functional networking agility. It also requires leadership, strategic thinking and business acumen.

You strive for the best with proactive actions, efficiency and speed in execution in order to secure expected performance and you stay accountable for the deliveries. You are a true team player and you contribute with energy and creativity. Being structured doesn't hurt either!
As we are a truly global and diverse company, most of your meetings and emails will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English, we are also looking to bring in the team more competence so French, Portuguese or Chinese would be a plus. To qualify for the position, you have several years of supply chain management experience (anything from purchasing, inbound, outbound or S&OP will do), in automotive powertrains, with adequate academic education: Master of Science or Business Administration.

WHAT is the job?

As a Supply Chain Planning Manager you are accountable for optimizing the supply of engines and accessories for a defined portfolio. This will be done by closing working with our Demand Managers, understanding your business and defining a strategy for managing your supply chain. You will even be responsible for your inventory optimization in order to secure high service level to customers to the most optimal cost. You will also participate in product development projects as a Project Manager to coordinate activities related to the Supply Chain Management area.

Key responsibilities will be:
The Supply Chain Planning Manager (SCPM) is responsible for planning the start of delivery for any new products in his/her portfolio, as well as insuring proper phase out of obsolete products and everything in-between related to the product's normal life cycle.
The SCPM is responsible for supply strategies and optimizing inventory replenishment in his/her portfolio taking into consideration the demand plan, inventory plan as well as supply chain constraints.
The SCPM is responsible for leveling and implementing capacity constraints by deciding the optimal production pace and capacity as well as the weekly Master Production Scheduling
The SCPM is responsible to drive continuous improvements in the S&OP and supply chain planning processes to secure overall efficiency and world-class results

We see that you possess these qualifications:
Supply chain management experience from the automotive powertrain industry
Experience in production systems, led Kaizens work and/or taken a Six Sigma belt with a track record of improving performance within your areas of responsibility
Strong customer focus
Networking skills
Sharp analytical skills & a structured way of working
Advanced Excel Skills
Experienced in one or more of the following IT systems: RapidResponse, KKL, SHIP, CPO, Pipechain
Resilient, flexible and creative
Education (university, MSc or MBA degree) in supply chain management with a broad understanding of the supply chain field
Fluent in English (written and spoken), and in any one of the following languages: French, Portuguese and/or Chinese.
