Key tasks
As Supplier Quality Engineer in the group sourcing team you will contribute to defining and executing the global sourcing strategy within Permobil Group. The group sourcing team defines and presents supply chain strategies based on category management and supplier quality assurance including responsibility for suppliers and their performance.
The position as Supplier Quality Engineer involves a structured and methodical approach, with responsibility for ensuring supplier product and process compliance.
You will develop relationships with new and existing suppliers as well as being responsible for product and process quality from the supplier base. Following-up and monitoring of key quality and compliance measures is part of the role.
You will also be part of evaluating and selecting new suppliers. You will be visiting our suppliers to drive risk assessments and compliance control in our evaluation process.
Key duties with this position that covers both global and regional activities are:
• Leadership in driving effective corrective action response with suppliers
• Provide training, monitor and improve local site claim handling process
• Assist with development of inspection work instructions and control plans
• Perform supplier qualification audits and lead follow up of any required next steps
• Work integrated with product development (US and Sweden) in new projects
• Support business with supplier quality analysis and suggestions for improvement also for quality issues related to product design
• Participate production process design. production process validation and part approval (PPAP)
• Participate in CAPA projects
• Participate in developing and communicating supplier quality manual
• Participate in continuous improvement of supplier quality frameworks
Our environment is international though a majority of the work is conducted with global suppliers.
This position is located in Timrå and includes travelling.
Your background
Our Supplier Quality Engineer is expected to analyze, suggest and implement improvements at of our Quality Management System, both internally and at suppliers in an independent way. The level of problem solving is also affected by the fact that the process around supplier quality always have to be at the highest standard and continuously improved to secure the safety for Permobil users.
No internal supervisory responsibilities are related to the position but it requires high level of supervision, coordination and communication with all sites within Permobil as well as the contacts with the suppliers.
Key competences with this position that covers both global and regional activities are:
• Solid knowledge in Quality Management Systems
• Experience in design, production engineering and production methods
• Basic project management
• Strong relationship management and communication skills
• Persuasive and influential with a high level of attention to details
• Power of initiative and strong driving force
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
We expect you to have university degree (or similar) in engineering and/or quality/supply chain management or equivalent work experience from other product development, supply chain, quality engineering, project management or similar positions.
