We have had steady growth over the years but we will need more concentration on technical support in order to gain and reach significant market share globally. The Technical Development Manager (TDM) will work in achieving this target by supporting the sales organization as well as independently directly developing new business segments. Location Oxelösund.
About the position
The TDM will develop deep technical expertise on benefits of Toolox versus competing materials and its suitability in various customer applications, with special emphasis on Engineering segment.
In this position you will continuously improve the technical development process in line with SSAB 's values and principles. You feel comfortable taking actions and decisions keeping in mind the long term success factors. You will work closely with our customers to make sure our segment development leads to sustainable growth and further opportunities to develop and expand.
This position reports to Sales director Engineering & Tooling and the working area is global.
Together with Sales director and Product manager identify strategic segments. Plan how to increase sales to those segments and carry out those plans
Build up technical knowledge (application and workshop) and transfer it to sales
Direct contact with OEMs and Tier1 companies in strategic segments for application and sales development
Technical support for Engineering & Tooling, internally SSAB and customers
Your qualifications
University degree in engineering (material, mechanical or design)
Have deep knowledge for Engineering & Tooling application areas.
Proven ability to convert technical and application knowledge in actual sales
Expertise in workshop processes such as surface engineering
Understanding on material technology of engineering steels
