SSAB Special Steels is now looking for a senior Legal Counsel to strengthen our legal function.
About the job
As senior Legal Counsel for SSAB Special Steels, you will have a key role in the division as the strategic legal partner within the whole spectrum of legal matters, and you will interact with stakeholders both internally and externally. A major part of the job is international since SSAB Special Steels operates on a global market. An important part of your job will be to support the division in matters regarding our journey towards fossil-free steel production, IP and licenses, sanctions, procurement and contract law as well as governance, compliance and risk management. You will be part of our group legal team, and report to General Counsel for SSAB Special Steels. In addition to the above, you will work closely with our Transformation Office who is responsible for our journey towards fossile free production on group level.
The role is based at SSAB head quarters in Stockholm, but you will be working close to colleagues within the division and visits to our production sites, mainly Oxelösund, are required on a regular basis.
You will have freedom under responsibility with great opportunity to influence your work and the issues within your area of expertise.
Your main accountabilities will be:
Independently handle (draft, review and negotiate) all types of commercial contracts and tender conditions in SSAB's business (supply, sales, maintenance, procurement contracts, etc.)
Review and improve governance, compliance and risk models within the division
Advise on legal disputes and handle litigation/arbitration matters;
Conduct legal training sessions with business;
Advise on major projects, e.g. legal issues related to the fossil free transformation;
Advise on various internal policies of SSAB;
Draft legal opinions and risk assessment reports as when required;
Track legal and regulatory updates and share important updates with the legal team;
General legal advice to business and other legal matters as required; and
Work with external legal counsel on specific matters ranging from litigation to expert advice requests within expected cost constraints.
Who we are looking for

You have good communication skills and can build trust and support the organization in a professional and confidential way. Naturally, you have high integrity, and you pay attention to details.
Qualifications
Five to eight years of experience from working with qualified legal matters in a law firm or at a larger listed company.
Master of Laws (LL.M.), or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
