hela Sverige PDU AXE is a platform organization within DU Core and IMS; BU Networks, and we deliver our products to the following stakeholders MSC, Wireline, HLR and BSC.
PDU AXE is today a corner stone of our very successful and profitable Core and GSM business based on our platforms. Securing a smooth evolution is a critical business requirement for now and tomorrow.
PDU AXE has an exiting future ahead with the Blade cluster evolution, Evo controller, XPU concept, APZ capacity evolution and the introduction of new software features in the platform.
PDU AXE consists of 4 product areas, CP, IO and RP which constitutes the APZ product, the 4th product area is AUP. PDU AXE is present in several places in the world; Pagani Italy, Boulder USA, Shanghai China and Älvsjö Sweden.
We are now looking for an experienced Systems Manager who has the potential to become a senior specialist and wants to work as a Solution Architect for the AXE platform.
As a Solutions Architect within the Systems & Technology Management - PDU AXE, you are responsible for the architecture of the AXE Platform.
The overall goal is to support the Ericsson migration strategies towards IMS and LTE, by utilizing the installed base and best in class Telco perception.
The Systems Manager is responsible for:
• Driving and performing systems analysis in the area of IP based platforms.
• Working across business units and design units as a Solutions/systems architect for the AXE platform.
• Driving continuous improvements in the platform
• Development with technologies such as Virtualization, IP and Scalable Cluster while maintaining the highest availability on the platform
Current and future challenges include the evolution of the Blade cluster for MSC and HLR, Introduction of Linux on the APG, Evo Controller and continued HW and SW decoupling.
In performing the above, the Systems Manager shall work in close cooperation with Stakeholders (MSC, Wireline, HLR and BSC) as well as cross functional areas within the PDU in order to secure synergies throughout the PDU and across PDUs within Ericsson.
• Master of Science in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
• Project Management and leadership experience is an advantage.
• Systems design experience for real-time products.
• Performing system analysis related work- e.g. quick studies
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English is mandatory.
• Ability to work in team.
• Knowledge of modern processor architectures (Itanium2, Alpha, x86-64) and/or IP technologies is an advantage.
• IP based platform knowledge for mobile network and/or wire line networks.
Other desired areas of competence include having micro processor architecture knowledge, experience working with protocols, Linux competence, experiences with multi threading and multi processor development, and general AXE knowledge.
