Your workplace
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The section Mission management and EO/IR systems consist of about 20 persons that are working with research and development of Gripen, UAS and helicopters. The section is organized under the Tactical Systems area within the Research and Development department.
Within Tactical system we are developing tactical functionality for all our products in the following technical areas; communication, data links, targeting, electronic warfare, navigation, reconnaissance, mission management and decision support. The result of our design is implemented in the platform computers and in equipment delivered from our suppliers and partners.
Many of our projects are international.
Personnel from the section are working mainly in functional teams together with engineers from other technical areas.
Your role
We are facing the next upgrade of Gripen and the next version of the tactical mission management system for helicopter 14 and need to strengthen our team with new software developers in the mission management area.
Your main tasks will be the following:
• Be responsible for parts of the mission mangement system
• Implementation and test of mission management functions
• Contribute at rig-, ground- and flighttests
• Contribute at problem investigations and analysis
We are working in teams with responsibility for the complete functional chain.
Here you will have the possibility to deepen your knowledge in software engineering or brouden your self to systems engineering for different functions.
Your qualifications
We are looking for you who:
• Have an interest and experience in software engineering, both traditional and model based
• Have the ability to see the big picture and connections between systems
• Earlier experiences and interest in mission management is beneficial
A suitable educational background could be a master of science in physics, electronics or computer science.
We are working in project teams where you represent our technical domain. It is therefore important that you are communicative and enterprising.
