The Steering ART, part of Vehicle Motion & Climate is responsible for the complete Steering systems.
Within the Steering Art we develop steering functions for conventional and AD vehicles. We have both suppliers developed solutions for the PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) and in house developed solutions for Electrical adjusted steering column. We research future systems for our portfolio such as Steer by Wire and Rear Wheel Steering. We work with platform solutions where we strive to lead the development on future shared platforms between Volvo, Polestar, Geely and Lotus.
Whom are we looking for?
We are looking for you that want to work with embedded SW development. You're interested in understanding and working with how SW requirements are broken down from function to system specifications and from those creating the SWRS (software requirements specification). You enjoy working close to the end product. Your day can consist requirement handshakes with internal and external stakeholders, as well as fault tracing and problem solving by signal read outs in vehicles.
You will be part of a team that share the work and develop their skills together to become stronger as individuals and as a team. The team is cross functional (HW +SW) but your main responsibility will be to assure that supplier developed software solutions have the right specifications and are quality assured. You get the chance to develop your competence both deep and wide. Understanding the SWRS is a good base for future systems engineering or Project management roles. You have experience either from SW development on component or system level or software testing on embedded system. You support the reason for going Agile and want to improve our way of working.
How can you contribute in the team?
Through being involved in the development of the SWRS and ensure that the software components are verified in collaboration with the team and component suppliers. Through being the contact person for program requirements internally and against external partners and support the organization with competence in project management, testing and fault tracing of the software. Through lead or take part in technical design reviews, both internally and with supplier. Through contribute to the development of the steering experience by participating in the development of technology and competence strategies for the ART. Quality in how and what you do is important for you to assure a safe product delivered on time to meet our customer 's need.
You and your skills
You have a Technical education on University or High school level (electro/mechatronics/Data or similar) and experience from software development in embedded systems.
You are Fluent in English (spoken and written) and have a driving license (B) and drives on a regular basis. You don't mind and have the ability to travel.
Team work is important for you and you like bringing out the best in others for your team to excel.
Technical skills you may have and/or like to develop
• Experience of software design. Modelbased or non modelbased
• Experience from requirement management tools such as System Weaver, Elektra or DOORS
• Experience of Volvo Base Technologies (SWDL, Diagnostics, NWM etc)
• Experience of Autobox & dSPACE application and modelling
