The answer is simple: You can. This is what motivates us at IKEA. We're constantly searching to find new ways to inspire people with ideas and solutions that let them live the life they want.
If you enjoy taking personal initiative and exceeding goals and if you are motivated to work in an agile way, with a desire to learn new things and don 't fear navigating in the unknown? Then keep reading, this might be the perfect role for you.
We're searching for an experienced Set Designer to join the all-new department - The Content Factory. If you're the right person for the job, you'll become part of the Creative Studio, a diverse team of around 35 passionate doers, idea makers and creative thinkers from around the globe. A team that has the creative muscles and the internal backing to build new, wild, unexpected, and beautiful solutions. Always with the intention to be relevant and to find answers to everyday problems in people's lives, for society and the planet.
WHO YOU ARE
You are familiar both with the IKEA identity and with the trends that influence home furnishing, retail design, and communication and you have extensive knowledge of the methods for presenting the product range and service range using film, photo, and broadcast.
You have the ability to translate communication concepts into impactful and appealing space design. Your method is visual and hands-on. You dare to find innovative ways and fresh ideas to do so. Simplicity is your guiding star.
For you, any place in the world is a studio. And the best studio is where people live - their home. So, if you feel at home with the production process and know how to initiate and execute the set we should definitely talk. And hopefully you could become part of this bunch of people-centred creatives, who like to make great stuff but leave our egos at the door.
Furthermore, what you need:
• Proven advanced training within interior design, art & design or equivalent
• 5+ years working with film and photo productions
• Demonstrable interior design skills with a strong portfolio
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Preferred: Knowledge of IKEA brand, our tone of voice, culture, and values
A DAY IN YOUR LIFE WITH US
As a Set Designer you're responsible for creating the sets for film, events, stills, and other productions. You'll be part of a brilliant and friendly team that always do their best to help each other out.
Some of your responsibilities include:
• Support that the team deliver high-level quality productions
• Designing and planning the set, establishing a look and feel, and building it as required by the brief from small to large scale
• Attracted to details and at the same time know how to handle different stakeholders and build bridges between the expectation and the solution.
• Strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in productions, securing that IKEA guidelines and principles are followed
• Analyse and actively address potential issues related to scenery, like lighting or scene change, in order to secure the best conditions for production
• Create and maintain relationships with external consultants, managing the opportunities for collaboration and streamlining their use to optimize existing resources
• Actively work with team members, creatives within other functions, and in good collaboration with other IKEA businesses in order to create synergies and facilitate the achievement of common goals
This role is a permanent position and will be located in Malmö, Sweden.
