The section Vehicle and Systems Testing is a section within the department A&V Environments & BRAVe. Our main purpose is to operate and develop the department's test beds within; Engine Testing, Powertrain Testing, Climate & Aero Testing, Chassi dyno Testing and Emission Testing. Our responsibility is to provide R&D with test beds and test equipment system in accordance with R&D needs with agreed solutions for capability and capacity over time.
The group, Emission and Rig development, consists of a mix of project engineers and service technicians and service engineers responsible for service and maintenance of all emission measurement equipment within R&D Gothenburg. We are now looking for a Service Engineer to join this team.
Since emission measurement contains a broad variety of test equipment with high technical complexity that involves, chemical, electronics, optical and mechanical principles there are almost endless possibilities to specialise in any of these fields or techniques. Within the section we have positions ranging from test cell engineers up to technical specialists.
Main responsibilities
* To perform scheduled service and maintenance according to maintenance instructions on emission measurement equipment
* To troubleshoot and repair emission measurement equipment
* Once trained to required level the service engineer will be required to work evening shift every 6-8 weeks, Mon - Thur 14:00 - 00:00. When on this shift you will also participate in on call rota to solve problems with emission equipment that may occur during the night shift
* Continuous learning of new technology
Required qualifications
* Technical college graduate or equal education
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Ability to read flow charts and wiring diagrams
* We believe that you have a genuine interest of technology
* You need to be able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative
* Since we work in a team and together with internal customers, suppliers, and other maintenance staff you need to be a team player too
* Prior experience from maintenance in general and servicing emission equipment in particular is a strong merit
Personal qualities
* Able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative
* Ability to learn new methods of working as well as sharing your own results and work together within the team to find the best solutions
* Able to both listen and learn and be able to share your findings
* Since we work in a team and together with internal customers, suppliers, and other maintenance staff you need to be a team player
