Mission
Responsible for developing, writing, illustrating, and maintaining repair Information (Methods and Standard Times), special tools, at the right quality, time and cost for Volvo group's brand dealers.
Deliver bus information and verify common information delivered from trucks.

Competence
Mandatory competencies
• Bachelor's degree in technical field, communications, Graphics related field, or vehicle mechanics or equivalent industry experience.
• Several years' aftermarket experience with truck/bus or transportation industry or workshop experience.
• English, written and spoken.
• Ability to understand CAD information.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to read, write and understand repair information.
• Basic Electrical and Diagnostic fault tracing training.
Preferred/additional competencies
• Preferred three years' experience working within a Heavy Truck Dealer or Fleet, bus operator
• Knowledge in Pneumatics.
• Knowledge in Hydraulics.
• Experience with and knowledge of various software packages including word processing, SGML language, CAD Software and vector based illustration software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Volvo group's products.
• Drivers license, Bus is a plus
• Certified for fire preventive precautions when welding, grinding, solder, etc.
• Certified for health conditions, ergonomics.
• Certified for truck lifter, forklift, component lifters, etc.
• This role requires technically oriented individuals that exhibit attention to detail.
• Ability to plan and deliver with minimum outside support.
Additional Competence: Function group(s) responsible
• Sub-contractor management knowledge. Oversee sub-contractor development of technical information.
• Basic in planning tools.
• Ability to take decisions.
• Basic in project management.
• Cross functional communication.
Responsibilities
• Develop, document efficient repair information (methods & standard times), and product descriptions (VSS) on vehicle and component level.
• Time study method steps following standard time instruction and enter time into method description. In the first instance using CAD-data and later physical verification if so needed or physically when no CAD-data is available.
• Prepares text and graphics (from CAD data) to create repair information (methods & standard times).
• Use authoring system to layout information and graphics that is easy to understand and is consistent with the publications and illustration guidelines.
• Release and order translations for repair information (methods & standard times).
• Maintain and update existing repair information (methods & standard times).
• Carry over existing repair information (methods & standard times) to new products.
• Carry over existing special tools to new methods.
• Compile needed specifications (manufacturing specifications, wear tolerances, pressures, etc.) for each method.
• Ensure that the repair information fulfills Volvo group's safety and quality aspects, so that neither product nor person comes to any harm.
• Enter the different warning levels into the repair information.
• To be able to understand new vehicle technology and select that which is important to inform for our customers.
• Reviews service information of other function group responsible areas within the group.
• Review, correct and update service information according to PTQA, CQA feedbacks. (GRIPS INFO)
• Conducts training for other Service Engineer's as required and work packages.
