We have an ongoing need and are offering opportunities for Statisticians within our Late Respiratory & Immunology (R&I) Biometrics team. Our Late Biometrics team is dedicated to the development of innovative treatment of Respiratory, Immunology and Infectious diseases. You will join a global, diverse and cross-functional environment where you will get personal and professional development. This role will be based in Gothenburg (Sweden).
In this role, we will give you the chance to utilise your statistical expertise in the design, analysis and interpretation of clinical trial programs; submission and defence of regulatory filings; and the generation of evidence to support product commercialisation and reimbursement.
What you'll do?
As a Senior Statistician, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. You will provide statistical support and leadership to clinical trial teams, clinical sub-teams and product development teams.
Focus and Challenge of the position:
• Serve as primary author for statistical sections of protocol concept sheets, protocols, clinical development plans, and integrated product development plans
• Provide direction and statistical oversight to outsourcing partners/providers regarding requirements and standards for study-level work, holding partners/providers accountable for the quality of their deliverables
• Lead development of components of regulatory submissions (eg, briefing documents, response to FDA requests) and represent AstraZeneca Statistics to Health Authorities
• Provide experienced statistical leadership to the development of the capability area and to Product Development Teams, promoting good statistical practice
• Juggling multiple projects with varying priorities, with an ability to recognize issues that may critically affect statistical analyses and to relay that information to appropriate level of management
Essential for the role:
• MSc or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics or similar area
• Leadership capabilities to be able to lead project work
• Experience of Development, program design and data analysis and interpretation
• Experience of major regulatory interactions and/or submissions
• Ability to apply statistical expertise to complex problems, problem solving and quality focus
Desirable for the role:
• Previous experience from the pharma industry is seen as a great advantage
