The role
We are hiring a Senior Solution Architect in the Vehicle Communication team. We are looking for curious minds that love innovation and are interested in the future of mobility.
Your mission is to define and design the architecture for one or more applications or services within the connectivity area, ensuring maximum value from IT investments. This role will be part of a Domain team as well as a Governance team for our development teams. You will collaborate with Enterprise Architects for strategic direction and follow established principles and guidelines, ensuring adherence to standards. Your focus will be on the technical decisions being made regarding architectural solutions and how they meet business needs.
You will work very close to the developers in our domain teams in early phases of projects and initiatives. Leading by example and being a role model for Connected Solutions is essential. In addition, you will represent us and our values outside our domain towards stakeholders both within Connected Solutions but also outside towards Business Areas and Business Units in Volvo Group.
Main responsibilities:
Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Software Engineers and Enterprise Architects during early product phases to drive and specify architectural solutions.
Produce design artifacts including high-level and detailed design documents, database schemas, and system workflows.
Ensure security aspects are incorporated in proposed architectural solutions.
Communicate solutions to developers and clarify requirements by working with the Business Analysts and other stakeholders.
Assure technical solutions are made part of the long-term strategic development plan.
Stay abreast of significant technological developments that may impact the business.
Your responsibilities will also include development tasks when needed.
Who are you?
You have a broad architectural knowledge in the connectivity area. You have a proven record of working with stakeholders internally as well as on the business side to discuss and understand the needs and translate them into technical solutions. Also, you have a broad experience and knowledge of software development and delivery of services. We also believe you have experience from leading change in WoW related to frameworks and methods in the architecture area.
Required skills:
10+ years of IT experience, whereof 5+ years as a Solution Architect or similar
Proven leadership skills as lead architect
Experience from Agile, SAFe, DevSecOps
Broad experience from working with Telematics/Connectivity technologies
Experience of Microservices architecture
Experience in designing high load applications and performance optimization
Broad developer experience in Java, Typescript, Spring Boot, JMS, Linux, relational and NoSQL databases
Experience of cloud technologies, preferably AWS and/or Azure, serverless technologies
Knowledge of computer networks
Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
