hela Sverige Adecco Life Science is looking for a Senior Research Scientist to AstraZeneca, Gothenburg. It is preferred that you have expertise in respiratory in vivo models as well as molecular biology technologies and histology. You are independent in your daily work possessing strong oral and written communication skills.
The consultant assignment will start as soon as possible and continue until 2018-12-31. Since the position is to be filled as soon as possible, please apply no later than December 4th.
In vivo Scientist / Histologist

The Arena:
RIA Innovative Medicines within AZ is accountable for the discovery and the development of new drugs in the Respiratory arena. There are three main strategic areas - Lung Epithelium, Lung Immunity and Lung regeneration. In the lung regeneration area, our goal is to develop therapies to regenerate lungs for emphysematous and lung fibrosis patients. Our research is focused on molecular pathways which facilitate the lung regeneration. If it is successful, it will provide an entirely new treatment paradigm for COPD and IPF patients.
In our department, we are accountable to deliver key inhalation and in vivo expertise to support progress of projects in the portfolio with excellence in the respiratory arena.
The role:
The role is an In-Vivo role preferably with histology expertise and reports into the Team Leader Bioscience regeneration team 1 and supports projects with in-vivo and inhalation area and delivers key in vivo data to projects.
We are looking for an individual with a strong background and expertise in in vivo as well as a broad background in molecular biology, preferably with histology skills. The successful candidate has a broad expertise in respiratory in vivo models, such as PPE, smoke and LPS challenged rodents as well as a broad expertise in molecular biology technologies and histology. She/He independently designs and conducts experiments and analyses & evaluates the data. In addition, she/he presents the data at team and project team meetings.
Minimum requirements
Ph.D in Biomedicine or relevant discipline plus experience in in vivo and a broad molecular biology.Deep understanding of respiratory models in rodentsBroad understanding of inhalation.Statistical analysis of data.Experience in pharmaceutical R&D and academia.Strong oral and written communication skills. English is essential. Swedish is appreciated but is not a request.Knowledge and experience of molecular biology, such as ELISA and qPCR .
Preferred experience and key factors
• Expertise in inhalation in rodents and intra-trachea dose in rodents
• Histology skills, such as immunohistochemistry and RNA-Scope
• Experience from pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge and experience in COPD and IPF.
