Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean (WW Ocean) is a leading provider of deep-sea ocean transportation for cars, trucks, rolling equipment and breakbulk cargo. Through a fleet of more than 50 modern RoRo vessels, WW Ocean offers a global liner service in 12 trade routes to six continents. Last year, WW Ocean moved 3 million car equivalent units (CEU) of cars, rolling equipment and breakbulk worldwide.

Key Responsibilities.

You will have the responsibility for handling most of our Quotes for Liner Cargo to customers as well as handling bookings for more complicated shipments. This role requires you to have an active dialogue with customers, with other parts of Wallenius Wilhelmsen and with the Port Terminal to make sure that we offer a professional customer care service to our customers.

Customer interaction.

• Act as the customer interface from the time the customers ask for a freight rate and/or and a service proposal to the time the customers want to make a booking, and for more complex cargo, also handling the booking.
• Answer customers' questions about our schedules, cargo handling procedures, space and terminal receiving issues.
• Follow up with customers about outcome of previous Quotes, and future cargo opportunities.
• Be back-up, internally, on making bookings.

Port Terminal, Operation and Trade coordination and interface.

• Coordinate with the Port Terminal about cargo delivery & handling and other cargo/customer booking issues, especially for more complex cargo, and take responsibility for driving solutions.
• Coordinate with our Operation team about equipment availability and cargo handling issues.
• Coordinate and be pro-active with Trades about space availability and allocations.

Quoting & Booking of cargo and internal coordination.

• Use our Quotations system ('GQS') for customers' rate requests, i.e. make Quotes, and update the system with information from the customers on former Quotes, e.g. why we did not receive bookings on the Quotes.
• Assist the other Sales Support Officer with more complex booking system & working procedure issues.
• Coordinate with our Documentation Department in order to avoid and correct mistakes between the bookings and the final B/L & Manifest details, and discuss working procedure improvements.
• Coordinate how the Sales Team should work in the same manner with weConnect, and update customer contact details etc.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical skills/technical mindset as you must be able to provides quotes on complicated cargo and therefore understand the operational aspect of the cargo such as weight, size, complexity of handling
• In-depth understanding and experience of the operational aspects of managing and handling our cargo throughout its journey
• Understanding of how the Gothenburg port works and ability to communicate well with staff working there
• At least 5 years' experience in a Business to Business customer-facing role
• At least 7 years' experience of working within Shipping and Logistics
• University degree, preferably within Logistics or Shipping
• English is the working language
