hela Sverige Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. We also aim to transform the way we are working, with clear focus on innovative software solutions. As part of the initiative, and in order to establish Scania as a software company, we are building up a research team in the area of software defined vehicles. One of the goals is to increase the speed of product development by utilizing solutions based upon generative AI. The overall goal of Scania research is to prepare Scania to take next steps needed to stay in a top position as an automotive OEM.
One focus will be the use of generative AI for creation of source code. To ensure trustiness, this is to be combined with formal methods. In the position as senior researcher, you are also expected to identify and investigate other use cases for generative AI in the broader area of software engineering, for example within SW design, testing, requirements engineering, and management.

Key responsibilities
Research and predevelopment in the area of generative AI for automotive SW engineering
Work with case studies.
Set up and lead MSc thesis projects
Supervision of PhD students
Apply for research funding
Bridge research and predevelopment with engineering, including supporting Scania with expertise in generative AI
Collaboration with universities
Qualifications
PhD-degree in computer science or similar.
Experience of scientific research in machine learning or generative AI
Experience with software development in industry
Experience with automotive engineering
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Interest and experience with formal methods.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
