EDGE project is a strategic project within Husqvarna Group with the purpose of developing our own chainsaw chains and industrializing these including production equipment in our newly established factory in Huskvarna.
Now we are strengthening our organization with a Senior Project Manager - New Concept Tools. This is a new position to strengthen us in specification and purchase of stamping tools. You are part of the EDGE project and report to Project Manager EDGE. In this role you are responsible for the progress of developing and renewing our collaboration with existing tool suppliers as well as identifying and initiate collaborations with new. As Project Manager, you are ultimately responsible for Time, Cost and Quality and Risk Management.
Description of the role
You will focus on developing existing stamping tool suppliers as well as component manufacturing. This includes co-operating and developing next-generation tools together with suppliers, as well as negotiating cost models for our tooling road map and component manufacturing costs. The service also includes delivering a complete process solution stamping (from raw material to finished components according to specifications) to our suppliers, meeting our quality, speed, service life, maintenance, etc.
You will also identify and qualify new suppliers with your team. The role has operational features aimed at developing future stamping process (including machines) where you contribute with your technical skills.
The role of Project Manager within EDGE involves being responsible for budget, time schedule, quality and risk mitigation. It also means acting as a leader and communication channel for your group that consists of cross-functional features such as tool technicians, purchasers, legal. The role involves relatively frequent travel to our supplier. Periodically, it may include several days of the month.
Qualifications
• Strong technical skills (preferably stamping technology)
• Bachelor in mechanical engineering and education in project management. Certification in the project management area is highly regarded as Production Engineering Education.
• At least 5 years' experience in leading cross-functional teams in projects with proven success.
• Working experience in manufacturing industry with high level of automation
• Experience in procurement of machines and tools
• Swedish and English fluent in speech and writing.
