Avalanche Studios Group and its creative division Avalanche Studios are looking for a passionate and highly creative Senior Environment Artist to join the team working on our next unannounced AAA project in Stockholm.
You will work in collaboration with world designers to create cutting-edge man-made structures and environmental props while supporting mission gameplay and world-building. We expect you to take your assets all the way from conceptual mockups to modeling and texturing to final placement in the environment. You will also be responsible for the final functionality of your assets, such as simple destruction setups, simple animations and performance.
Required qualifications
• 4 + years experience working on published PC and/or console titles
• Experience creating environment art assets for open-world or level based games
• Excellent modeling and texturing skills. Maya, Photoshop, and Substance are preferred
• Strong and documented artistic skills
• A great sense of technical excellence, functionality and problem-solving
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Passion for playing and making games
• A good understanding of model optimization
Desired additional qualifications
• Ability to communicate an artistic vision.
• Experience working with outsourcing partners.
• Ability to research and find complementary references for assets.
• Experience with level design and game mechanics
• Ability to communicate ideas with 2D art and rapid 3D placeholders
