About the job
We are looking for a Senior Country Controller that enjoys working in a dynamic retail environment and wants to have a broad set of responsibilities. As the financial administration is facilitated by the shared service centre in The Netherlands, this position can focus on driving business performance and act as the sparring to Country management. This role is not only limited to finance, as you will also take the lead in business cases for store expansion and other exciting investments, communicate with franchisees regarding contracts, pricing, and various operational matters. Further, you will be responsible for procurement and be engaged in strategy planning. This requires initiative, teamwork, and a hands-on approach.
Best practices are shared with your international colleagues within Business Control and Business Intelligence. You will work closely with the Swedish Country Manager and the International Business Control team, and report to the Manager Business Control & Planning in The Netherlands.
Responsibilities
• Sparring partner for Country Management
• Performance tracking (store KPIs and project progress), and cost control
• Drive investment proposals for new store locations
• Oversee the financial administration done by the Dutch shared service centre
• Tax and regulatory matters together with BDO accountants
• Legal affairs
• Interact with franchisees regarding financial matters
• Weekly/monthly management reporting for Country Management Team and Senior Management in The Netherlands
• Forecasting & budgeting
• Office management responsibilities with support from an assistant
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Accounting or Business Economics or equivalent degree
• Minimum of 10 years of experience within Business Control or as a Finance Manager/Controller
• Fluent in English, both in text and orally
• Excellent Excel skills
• Experience with SAP, Tagetik, Tableau, Anaplan or similar tools is required
• Previous experience within retail is desire
