hela Sverige The Apex Connect team, a part of the Central tech organization in Avalanche Studios Group, is looking for a Senior Backend Programmer to work with the development of player-facing backend services powering our live service games with features such as authentication, data tracking, live service events scheduling, matchmaking and more. The services you will develop are used in both our AAA games and self-published games with millions of active users.
The Position
In this role, you will be challenged with designing and developing our next generation of backend services. You will collaborate with game teams working on upcoming and unannounced projects, as well as support existing games in their usage of our services. You will be working within a team of Backend and Frontend Developers, as well as Data Engineers. You will participate in planning and implementing long-term technical roadmaps and promote a positive and collaborative spirit inside the team and towards the team's stakeholders (e.g. game teams' developers and designers, marketing teams, etc.).
Our backend services are implemented in Go with parts extending into C++, Python and JavaScript. We are looking for someone who has solid experience in the games industry and managing large code bases shared between multiple products.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5+ years of professional backend programming experience
• Strong knowledge of backend programming in Go, Python, C# or Java
• Extensive experience from storage technologies such as MySQL, NoSQL, Redis or Memcache
• Extensive experience running services in commercial clouds or Kubernetes
• A great sense of technical excellence, functionality and problem-solving
• Excellent verbal and written English
Bonus Qualifications
• Experience from the Video Game industry
• Knowledge of Javascript and C++
• Previous work with high availability solutions
• Passionate about gaming
