Senior Associate, Bridgepoint Europe

General Description

We specialise in private equity and private credit and invests internationally in five principal sectors: Services, Consumer, Healthcare, Advanced Industrials, and Technology.

Bridgepoint is currently investing four funds with distinct but complementary strategies: Bridgepoint Europe VII, a c.EUR6.0 billion fund which is focused on investing in market-leading businesses that are typically valued between EUR250 million and EUR1.5 billion; BDC IV, a £1.56 billion fund managed by our lower middle market and growth capital fund (Bridgepoint Development Capital), focused on high growth companies valued up to £200 million; Bridgepoint Growth I, a £108 million fund making growth capital investments seeking equity investment between £5 million and £20 million, with a focus on companies utilising digital technologies to achieve transformational growth in their end-markets. Bridgepoint Credit is a private credit platform investing in sponsor-backed, private, and public companies. Through its three complementary investment strategies, Bridgepoint Credit is a solutions-based investor targeting a wide range of situations and structures, including Syndicated Debt, Direct Lending and Credit Opportunities.

Bridgepoint has offices in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, New York, Paris, Shanghai and Stockholm.

Key Responsibilities

Origination
• Organising tasks for discrete work streams coordinating team's agendas during deal processes
• Autonomously producing presentations (slide decks) for a variety of audiences; including charts and exhibits

Diligence
• Appraising potential investment opportunities and structuring / executing upon diligence programmes.
• Building, iterating and auditing financial models.

Execution
• Developing and presenting relevant sections of investment papers to Bridgepoint's investment committee.
• Managing a broad array of stakeholders (e.g., corporate finance advisers, diligence providers, etc.) across process milestones

Deal Completion
• Working closely with investee company management teams in the development and implementation of the value enhancement plan.
• Participates in deal signings/closings or fully binding bids
• Proficient with transaction documents

Realisations/Exits
• Supports exit preparation on core deal or portfolio disposal
• Helps to manage advisors

What We Are Looking For
• At least 5-6 years of work experience with reputable strategy consulting firms, investment banks (in the mergers & acquisitions or leveraged finance departments), transaction services firms or other leading organisation (especially technology led ones)
• Excellent academics including a degree at Bachelor or Master's level.
• A credible and engaging presentational style, coupled with the confidence (tempered by self- awareness) to be effective in relationship building with vendors / management teams and advisers.
• A high level of numeracy and technical proficiency, combined with the commercial awareness to put the numbers into their strategic context; and
• A demonstrable interest in investing as opposed to advising, coupled with a genuine interest in understanding underlying market and business dynamics
• Private equity experience preferred
• Broad sector experience having completed a number of M&A transactions across a wide range of sectors, including technology, education, business services, healthcare and consumer
• Experience in detailed financial analysis, valuation and financial modelling
• Experience engaging stakeholders and in building relationships
• A high level of numeracy and technical proficiency, combined with the commercial awareness to put the numbers into their strategic context; and
• A demonstrable interest in investing as opposed to advising.
