We are now looking for a Senior Android Engineer to Saltside, an exciting product company in central Gothenburg!
About Saltside
Saltside building leading online marketplaces in underserved markets, while creating sustainable value for the community. Currently Saltside operates top classified sites in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ghana, and Nigeria. In these markets the vast majority of people are yet to go online for the first time ? and we think they should be greeted by high quality services and a great end-user experience when they do.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to join the fast growing team in Gotheburg, Sweden. You will help build an application that millions of people use every day. You will play an important role in the mobile engineering practice, implementing new features, integrating with 3rd party libraries, developing Android applications and building beautiful user interfaces.
Responsibilities
• Mobile first! Live and breath cutting edge Android apps
• Collaborate closely with other engineers and designers to execute the emerging designs and ensure the feasibility, usability of the product are enhanced further
• Write clear, maintainable code that will scale across a number of projects and distributed development teams
• Become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
Requirements
• You have a deep understanding and working experience of modern Android development and tools for 6+ years
• Excellent knowledge of Java Technology Stack, Mobile Development and Android eco-system
• Knowledge of any one server side programming language - Python, JAVA, Ruby
• Knowledge of any RDBMS - MySQL, MS-SQL, or NoSQL like MongoDB, Redis
• Good understanding of Thrift, SOA
• Good understanding of AWS Infrastructure/Cloud platforms
• You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high quality code
• You have released at least two apps or have a project in the works that you can tell us about
• You take initiative to connect all of the dots and work with your peers
• You have experience in driving technical projects from beginning to end
• You have great communication skills in both written and verbal English
