At Product&Quality you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. At Volvo Cars, we have an Agile Organization where we develop our product features and functions continuously in Product Streams with a complete lifecycle responsibility.
The three Product Streams within the unit Vehicle Software&Electronics are:
* In-Car Digital - Infotainment, Digital User Experience, Connectivity
* Base Software - Electrical and Electronics Systems
* Autonomous Drive - Active Safety and autonomous drive functions
Security and System Safety is a group within the department Electrical Systems Design. We protect assets important to the customer by providing in-vehicle Security solutions, including Privacy. We also have a cross cooperation lead for System Safety. The Security team in the group works with requirements on complete vehicle and system level, as well as developing Security solutions in close cooperation with System Architects, Product Strategy, Infotainment and IT departments. Requirements and solutions are deployed both to in-vehicle and surrounding systems.
Security is rapidly increasing as a hot topic in all areas of society. With an ambitious growth plan for all kinds of connected functionality Volvo needs to keep a pole position in the never-ending Security race. Cloud based threats from outside a connected car will present ever increasing challenges. As Security Engineer you will be part of Security team. You will have responsibility for developing requirements and software based security controls targeted for in-vehicle use. You are a technically experienced person that is skilled in developing complex technology and participate in implementation efforts across a large organization.
Main responsibilities
* Develop requirements for software based security controls.
* Work with in-house component design and IT teams to confirm that requirements and software security controls are being understood and accepted.
* Give implementation support for on-board and embedded security features to others in text and speech.
* Work with test team to establish an enough level of test methods.
* Follow up on test results.
* Work with attribute leaders and architects to get a coherent security design.
* Contribute to that requirements are consistent across multiple vehicle programs and fulfils customer expectations and applicable legislation.

Required qualifications
* BSc or MSc in Software, Electrical or Computer engineering, or other relevant experience.
* A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience of security solutions in vehicle or other embedded environment, preferably with an emphasis on software.
* Knowledge and experience on vehicle networks and communication protocols.
* Knowledge on international standards and national regulations concerning Security.
* Fluent in English, spoken and written.
* Driver's license B.
* Experience from developing automotive electrical systems development is meritorious.
* Familiarity with Volvo Cars development process is meritorious.

Location for this position is onsite in Gothenburg, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
