Position Description:
Complete Vehicle contributes to delivering Products & Services to all Volvo Group brand customers. In Complete Vehicle we are close to the end customers, understanding their needs and behaviors. Our engaged teams have a holistic view of the entire truck and bring hands-on truck experience.
The Reliability, Functions & Vehicle V&V section is part of the Feature, Verification and Validation (FVV) Gothenburg organization within Complete Vehicle. The responsibility of the section is to Lead Field test activities, Measure & analyze, Verify & Validate with focus on Durability, Reliability, Logistics and End User Functions including the Extended Vehicle. This is done by tests and measurements on proving grounds, on roads and by field testing. Important testing of Fuel efficiency, CO2, Noise and other features is also done within the section.
This section is vital to verify and validate our leading position on Heavy Duty Trucks around the globe and contributes in a wide variety of Group Trucks Technology and Volvo Group Connected Solutions projects. About 25 engineers, 17 drivers and 21 mechanics organized in five groups belong to this section. In addition, 55 consultants are working in the section. This position includes the responsibility for Hällered Proving Ground within AB Volvo.
Main tasks:
Your task is to lead the section in a transformation from Project to Product focus by taking a clear accountability for optimization of project deliveries towards the benefit for our customers and the product perspective. You are expected to take a stand with regards to product readiness and have a view on the needed tests to be performed. You are expected develop an organization with strong accountability and with an internal drive to continuously improve, build knowledge and understand customer needs and truck usage including systems like Volvo Connect.
In this position you will be part of the FVV GOT management team, and report to FVV GOT Chief Engineer.
